1/2 lb. hamburger
1/2 lb. bacon
12 oz. red kidney beans
12 oz. butter beans
2 large cans pork and beans
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. white vinegar
1 t. dry mustard
1 c. brown sugar
In one pot fry bacon. In another pot brown hamburger. Drain both and chop to a good consistency. Sauté onions.
Open cans of beans, draining only the butter beans and red kidney beans. Put all beans in crock pot and add ketchup, vinegar, mustard, brown sugar, drained meats and onions. Mix together. Cook on low for four hours. Enjoy! (This recipe is from my friend Rhea F.–it was her grandmother’s!) Serves about 10-12.
